new flavor
vibes of the week
Today we’re experiencing three different aspects that are exactly in conversation with each other. Mercury in Capricorn is 60 degrees behind Uranus in Taurus, which is 30 degrees behind Mars in Cancer, which is 180 degrees across from Mercury in Capricorn. These three planets form a even triangle. Find them in a geometry textbook under “obtuse.”
Mercury and Uranus are a zesty when pairing. Uranus adds an unpredictability to Mercury, and Mercury converts Uranus’s cacophony into a discernible melody. If Mars weren’t in the picture, this energy would be innovative and spontaneous, although still erratic. Unfortunately, Mars in Cancer is spiteful, and it’s been stewing in self-pity during this slow retrograde. This energy turns Mercury and Mars’s epiphany into a wake-up call. Mars in Cancer has the quality of a temper tantrum. Mercury in Capricorn says we have to grow up, but Mars isn’t ready and is bursting into tears.
Not to mention, we’ve just entered an unusually frigid Aquarius season. This is the first Aquarius season we’ve experienced since Pluto moved into Aquarius, so whatever intensity we witness in the next month will be harbingers of the next two decades. Aquarius has a way of revealing thoughts slowly and with conviction, so if an idea coalesces, let it persist.
The vibes:
We’ve set our alarm for 4:30am to get to the station on time. We wake up a minute before the alarm goes off with a sense of urgency. Shuffling ourself to the car, our inner child beats their fists on the ground in protest. We tell ourself to stop crying, which we never were, but our inner disciplinarian has gone mad with power.
Going on a trip, especially towards family, especially when things aren’t right, the world is much harsher. The dry air of the train. Strangers won’t move their bags to let us sit and that’s what is wrong with people these days. That’s why our skin itches and we haven’t had time for a haircut.
In the miles and miles of travel, once or twice a thought bubbles up out of nowhere. Like it was hovering above the ground and it stuck to us as we passed through. It got caught in the web of our mind. Those thoughts are something about how we need to proceed, and they’re disappointing because until we get back home we won’t be able to change anything. In the meantime our bones are a little heavier and the internet is slow.
